Mike Tierney
Mike Tierney is a Brooklyn-based audio engineer and producer. His work has garnered seven Grammy nominations, including for Best Engineered Album, Classical. He has worked with a wide range of groups and genres, pulling from a diverse taste and experience to bring a unique musicality to each project. Regardless of whether he is producing or engineering, his goal is to highlight the emotions that the song is trying to convey with a concise aesthetic.
Mike has a background as a composer, arranger, and performer, which helps him to work naturally with musicians to help create an environment in which everyone feels comfortable and creative, while his technical expertise helps to translate their aesthetic into a coherent recording. This bridging has helped Mike in developing a presence in New York’s music scenes, having worked with artists such as Steve Reich; Medeski, Martin, & Wood; Judy Collins; Julia Wolfe; Stephen Stills; Pharaoh Sanders; Alarm Will Sound; and Christopher Cerrone.
