Clinton Hill Brownstone

224 Washington Avenue in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn is a stunning pre-war brownstone building built in 1901. Our host Jennifer Salomon is an artist and curator, as well as an active member of Friends of Metropolis Ensemble.

The brownstone sits squarely at the heart of the Clinton Hill Historic District and is surrounded by 19th-century mansions. Clinton Hill was originally settled in the 1600s by Dutch farmers; and named for New York's sixth governor, DeWitt Clinton. The Pratt Institute of Art is just around the corner, helping to boost the creative and bohemian spirit of this fashionable neighborhood.
